Mityana, Uganda – A 36-year-old man, Sekito Bruno, was beaten to death by a mob in Mabuye-Kabalungi village, Zigoti town council, Mityana district, on April 28, 2026.
According to police reports, Bruno was attempting to steal a motorcycle in Buwalula trading center when he was chased and caught by a group of boda boda riders and locals.
Despite attempts by the village chairperson to intervene, the mob lynched Bruno and set his body on fire.
Police from Zigoti station responded to the scene but found the body already burning. The would-be stolen motorcycle was taken by the mob, and the suspects have fled.
SSP Lameck Kigozi, police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and urged youths to desist from crime, warning that it can lead to loss of life or imprisonment.
Bruno’s body has been taken to Mityana general hospital morgue.
