In his interview on one radio station, Tom Dee Ug urged Ugandan artists and content creators to mostly focus on income earning projects like farming and poultry which will Healthily help to sustain the lifestyle,
“We like the luxury but literally music and content can not facilitate the moves, music costs much but the income flowing is seasonal and sometimes it is timely and this is what many of my fellow artists forget”
Tom Dee add that music is like a calling that one can passionately invest in minus expecting anything like profits, where the problem comes from is when passion is covered by the crowd loudness and the celebrity welcomes that divert passion into business “Music is a business that pays less than the investment mostly when you need quick harvests”.
After years of hard struggles and hustles in and out of Kampala, Tom Dee chose to start a career with the content creator’s space in Uganda
The chemistry and authenticity between Tom Dee and his lovely Agatha won them thousands of followers, paving the way for Tom Dee’s gradual transition into music, with some trendy songs like Omuzabibu, Wantama, Baala, Mundeke Nenywere and more, Tom Dee is happily enjoying the lifestyle.
Tom Dee once came forward to reveal that he was beaten and humiliated by Alien Skin and his gang, and that Alien Skin should have chosen dialogue instead of violence to resolve their differences, “When I was insulted, it was only music to fight back to keep the focus and the goal active”, he added.
About drug abuse and depression in artists, Tom Dee again judged it has unemployment and lack of project works that could help them to have busy schedules in the periods of no bookings or music and content businesses.
We have seen many artists depressed and some almost running mad due to drugs, It ends up creating a negative image to the general public on how the would have respected and learnt from the artists.
