Deadan Mubangizi, renowned for his “Service First” slogan and aspiring Member of Parliament for Buwekula South constituency in the 2026 elections, has urged the young generation to prioritize education if they aspire to lead and transform the country.
As students across Uganda prepare to resume classes on February 3, 2025, Mubangizi emphasized that academic perseverance is crucial for achieving success and driving positive change.
Mubangizi’s advice comes at a critical juncture, as research indicates that 8% of young Ugans have abandoned their studies to engage in unprofessional work, largely due to financial constraints or a desire to start earning immediately.
Some have even entered into marriage, either willingly or due to pressure from their guardians.
Addressing the young generation, Mubangizi cautioned that success rarely comes easily, saying, “Schooling may give you hard times, but trust me, there is light at the end of the tunnel.” He stressed that education is essential for developing effective leaders and driving meaningful progress.
Mubangizi’s commitment to education is evident in his consistent support for students in Buwekeula South.
Last year, as Primary Seven students prepared to sit for their final exams, Mubangizi boosted their morale by gifting each student a geometry set, wishing them success in their exams.
The students went on to excel, passing with flying colors.
Furthermore, Mubangizi recently participated in a fundraiser on November 9, 2024, in Kayebe Sub-County, where he and friends raised over 100 million shillings for St. Mark Secondary School in Buwekeula South.
The funds will support the introduction of A-level classes and the construction of a school laboratory, enhancing educational opportunities for students in the region.
