Kampala, Uganda – National Unity Platform (NUP) leader, Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Makerere-Kavule, tackling several critical issues.

Bobi Wine welcomed the recent Supreme Court decision to disband the military court martial, which effectively orders the release of all political prisoners tried in these courts.

He praised the judiciary for taking a step towards justice, and challenged them to continue on this path.

However, Bobi Wine criticized the Museveni regime for its failure to provide quality and affordable education.

With the recent back-to-school season, parents are facing significant financial burdens. Bobi Wine slammed the regime, stating that it should be ashamed of its 40-year record on education.

“We have spoken out against the high cost of education and the huge financial burden that parents face while taking their children back to school.

The Museveni regime should be ashamed of itself for having failed to provide quality and affordable education in the 40 years it has spent in power!” Bobi Wine exclaimed.

Regarding the forthcoming Kawempe North by-elections, Bobi Wine congratulated the ten NUP members who have expressed interest in representing the party.

He challenged these candidates to respect the outcome of the party’s selection process, emphasizing the importance of transparency and integrity.

Bobi Wine urged the candidates to remain steadfast, emphasizing that the party has the people, age, energy, and time on its side.

Despite facing disappointments and setbacks, Bobi Wine asserted that the party will not give up on elections.

“The regime has done all it can to make us hate and give up on elections, but we must never give them that satisfaction.

Yes, we have faced several disappointments and setbacks, but we must never forget that we have every factor on our side.

We have the people. We have the age. We have the energy. We have the time.

If we remain steadfast, the dictator will eventually have no choice but to fall, no matter what he takes us through along the way,” Bobi Wine declared.
