A battle for venue supremacy has erupted in Mubende, as a gospel crusade and a music show, both scheduled for Valentine’s Day, February 14th, are set to clash at the Kasaana playgrounds.
The gospel crusade, organized by Bishop Joyous Ssekamate, President of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda, in conjunction with Mubende Heart for Children Foundation, had initially secured permission from the Mubende Municipal Council to use the playgrounds for three days, starting from February 14th.
The crusade, which aims to win souls for Jesus Christ, has also planned a medical camp, targeting dental care, where people with tooth problems will receive free treatment.
The organizers have collaborated with Mubende Regional Hospital, Uganda Red Cross, and professional doctors from Finland to provide comprehensive medical services.
However, in a surprising twist, Tyaba Events, a prominent music show organizer in Mubende, began advertising a Valentine’s Day music show, featuring popular artists, at the same Kasaana playgrounds on February 14th.
This move has raised questions about who will ultimately use the venue on Valentine’s Day.
Efforts to reach Mubende Municipal Council for clarification on the matter have been unsuccessful so far.
The council’s decision will determine which event will proceed as planned, leaving the other to find alternative arrangements.
As the Valentine’s Day celebrations approach, the people of Mubende eagerly await the council’s decision, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the venue clash.
