Nalongo Tindimwebwa Toepista, a renowned education expert and politician, has officially declared her intentions to contest for the Woman Member of Parliament seat in Uganda’s Mubende district come 2026 general elections.
Tindimwebwa, a young patriotic Ugandan politician, is driven by a passion to transform her country and bring about fundamental change in Mubende.
Born, raised, educated, and married in Mubende, she possesses an intimate understanding of the district’s challenges.
As a celebrated educator, Tindimwebwa holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Mbale campus and a master’s degree in education management and administration from the same university.
Her experience as a Head Teacher at Mubende Parents School has transformed hundreds of children through impactful education.
Tindimwebwa’s vision for Mubende is rooted in her personal experiences and understanding of the community’s struggles.
“I was born in Mubende, raised, studied, and worked in this same district. I even got married here,” she emphasized.
“When I say I am the true candidate for my people, it’s because I know them and understand the challenges hindering them.”
Tindimwebwa criticizes the current state of leadership in Mubende, accusing some leaders of prioritizing personal gain over effective service to the community.
“Mubende people have long suffered with half-baked leaders whose intentions are to feed their swollen bellies and wet their mandibles with taxpayers’ money without rendering effective services,” she lamented.
She promises to bridge the gap left by these leaders, ensuring that the people of Mubende receive the quality representation they deserve.
“My Mubende people have for long been disappointed by some of our selfish leaders. They come crying for votes, secure victories, and then run to Kampala, chopping taxpayers’ money without working for it,” Tindimwebwa noted.
As an educator, Tindimwebwa prioritizes improving education standards in Mubende.
“I studied in UPE schools, I’m a real hustler when it comes to education. I’m not a planned kid; my parents used to sweat to get Ugx3000 to take me back to school,” she shared. “I know this is what my young sisters and brothers in Mubende are passing through, and that’s why I have surrendered myself to rescue them.”
Tindimwebwa’s commitment to education extends beyond her personal experiences.
As the coordinator for the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Mubende, she has ensured timely and transparent distribution of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds.
A staunch supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and loyal muzzukulu of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Tindimwebwa has supported dozens of women’s and youth groups with start-up capital, education assistance, and financial aid to patients.
Tindimwebwa’s husband, Salongo Kasendwa Badru, CEO of Kastop International Recruitment Company, is also a restless businessman committed to community development.
With her result-oriented approach and extensive experience in education, Tindimwebwa is poised to bring about fundamental change in Mubende. She pledges to address pressing issues such as:
Poor Education Infrastructure: Improving the condition of schools and providing necessary resources for effective learning.
Learner Performance: Enhancing the quality of education to improve student outcomes.
Youth Unemployment: Creating opportunities for young people to gain skills and find employment.
Healthcare: Improving access to quality healthcare services.
Poverty: Implementing initiatives to reduce poverty and improve economic well-being.
Favoritism and Land Grabbing: Promoting fairness and protecting the rights of citizens.
Teenage Pregnancies: Implementing programs to prevent teenage pregnancies and support affected girls.
The people of Mubende eagerly await Tindimwebwa’s leadership, hoping for a brighter future under her representation.
