Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has welcomed a delegation of friends led by Mr. Rollan Roberts, a lawmaker from West Virginia and former US presidential aspirant, at State Lodge Nakasero.
The President emphasized the importance of engaging on core issues such as trade, democracy, security, transport, energy, and economic competitiveness.
According to President Museveni, shifting focus away from peripheral issues like sexuality and homosexuality, where consensus may be difficult to achieve, is a step in the right direction.
He stressed that Uganda, like other African states, is positioning itself as a center of gravity and is open to partnerships with actors who recognize and support this effort.
By prioritizing key issues, Uganda aims to enhance its economic competitiveness and become a hub for regional growth and development.
