Buwekula Saza football team secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Mawokota in the quarterfinals of the Masaza tournament, gaining a significant advantage ahead of the return leg.

Aniku Fahad’s early first-half goal proved decisive, despite Buwekula being reduced to 10 players following Benjamin Amuru’s red card.

Under Coach Felix Sekabuuza’s guidance, Buwekula remains unbeaten in this year’s tournament.

The return leg is scheduled for September 29, 2024, at NTC Ground, Buwekula’s home ground, where Mawokota will seek to overturn the deficit.

Buwekula’s away win has significantly boosted their chances of advancing to the semifinals.

    Sunday’s Quarterfinal Results:

    • Mawokota 0-1 Buwekula
    • Kyaggwe 1-0 Singo Saza
    • Kyadondo 1-0 Busujju
    • Kabula 0-2 Buddu

With this win, Buwekula Saza team looks poised to secure a semifinal spot, while neighbors Singo Saza faces an uphill battle to recover from their shocking loss.
