A tragic accident occurred on November 25, 2024, in Nakiganda village, Kassanda district, resulting in the death of Police Constable Aliguma Moses.

The fatal accident involved a motor vehicle, UBA 135G Fuso fighter milk tank, and a motorcycle, UFP 815R Bajaj boxer red.

According to preliminary findings, the driver of the motor vehicle was traveling from Mityana to Mubende when he swerved off his lane to avoid potholes and collided with the motorcycle. PC Aliguma Moses, who was riding the motorcycle, died instantly.

The deceased police officer was attached to Kassanda Central Police Station and was a resident of Manyogaseka in Kassanda District.

He was riding his motorcycle from Mubende side to Mityana side along the Mubende-Kampala highway when the accident occurred.

The scene of the accident was visited and examined by a team led by the District Traffic Officer of Kassanda.

Both vehicles have been towed to the police station for inspection, and the body of the deceased has been taken to Kiganda Health Centre mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

The cause of the accident has been attributed to reckless driving by the driver of the motor vehicle, who left his lane.

Efforts are underway to identify, arrest, and bring the driver to justice.

The police spokesperson for the Wamala Region, SP Kawala Racheal, confirmed the incident and urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
