Manchester, England – Manchester United Football Club has announced that Erik ten Hag has stepped down as men’s first-team manager, effective immediately.
Ten Hag, appointed in April 2022, led the Red Devils to notable success, securing two domestic trophies: the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
The club expressed gratitude for Ten Hag’s contributions: “We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy will assume interim head coach duties, supported by the current coaching team, until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Manchester United thanks Ten Hag for his dedication and commitment and wishes him success in his future endeavors.
The search for a new manager is underway.
