On Friday 17th of January 2025, National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kayagulanyi Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine, together with some of his friends, flew out of the country to Dubai.
The NUP president is expected to meet Ugandan Diaspora (people of Ugandan descent who love and work outside Uganda) in Dubai.
Photos of Bobi Wine departing from Entebbe International Airport together with his fellow friend and famous comedian Kaperere trended all over different social media platforms.
Ugandan businessman and Kampala tycoon Frank Gashumba has highly condemned Bobi Wine’s trip to Dubai, urging that it is not something a presidential candidate fighting change in the country should be doing.
Gashumba compared the current scenarios between Bobi Wine and Dr. Kizza Besigye, who, at the most, is being held at Luzira prison.
Gashumba says Bobi Wine does not have the right state of mind to rule Uganda because he is not ready to offer sacrifices for the struggle unlike Besigye.
