It’s all good news for John Bosco Mubito who as we report this, is a full RDC for Mbale District.
Mubito jumped out of the battle against Minister of Presidency Hon Milly Babalanda and didn’t just quit but also switched to her back to support her for the seat of Budiope West County come 2026 elections.
Our reliable sources have intimated to us that the consensus between the Presidency boss and Mubito was built by HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s most hardworking muzzukulu and loyal supporter of the ruling NRM government but also a humble servant of Hon Milly, Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi, who is currently serving as deputy RDC Mityana district.
”I think Mwanjuzi realized divisionism has no impact on the people of Budiope, she is one person who believes in unity and this explains why she had to put in all her efforts to make Babalanda and Mubito one person, kudos to her, this is a mission she has successfully achieved,” said a one stronger supporter of Babalanda on condition of anonymity.
This simply means Babalanda will face no serious obstacle as she marches to represent the people of Budiope in Parliament.
The decision to bow out of the race was declared at an event where Babalanda was donating iron sheets and motorbikes to Muslims in Budiope. At this event, Mubito commended Mwanjuzi for being a unifier and for linking him to Minister and vowed to serve effectively in his new role as an RDC.
In his remarks later after accepting to leave the race for Babalanda, Mubito penned the communiqué below;
My Fellow Badiope,
Today, I take this honor to write to you with joy from the news of my appointment. My journey of service started in 2004 through Budiope Development Program (BUDEP) and I look back with pride.
We managed to build the spirit of consensus and negotiation which became the pillar on which our growth and transformation is anchored. Hon Balikowa Henry became MP Budiope County and it was upgraded to a district. Hon Balyejusa Sullex became MP and Budiope West County was born. I became an MP and more administrative units were created together with more schools and health units. We also got two ships instead of ferries etc.
None of our achievements could have come through violence or protests but consensus and proper negotiation. Therefore, in the spirit of consensus, I want to officially declare that I am bowing out of the race for MP Budiope West 2026 in favor of Hon Milly Babirye Babalanda.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for choosing me to serve our country as RDC Mbale District. I salute my supreme Chairman PLU Gen MK for the love and trust.
I cannot forget all my friends and supporters who have been working so hard to see me re-elected. I request you all to rally behind me and give our united support to Hon Milly Babirye Babalanda who is our extraordinary partner in efforts to secure the future of Budiope West.”
