A tragic accident on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway has claimed the lives of three people, including Bosco Bitanda, a prominent businessman from Nyendo, who was driving himself.

The crash occurred earlier today when the vehicle, traveling from Masaka towards Entebbe International Airport, veered off course along the Mpala section of the highway.
According to authorities, the driver is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel due to fatigue from a long-distance journey.
The accident resulted in the instant deaths of three occupants, while one passenger survived with injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“The vehicle was traveling from Masaka towards the Airport when the driver reportedly dozed off due to fatigue after a long-distance journey,” the Expressway management stated. “Tragically, three occupants lost their lives, while one sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.”
The incident response team worked closely with police to secure the scene and manage traffic.

Allan Ssempebwa, a communications officer at the Ministry of Works and Transport, confirmed the crash, stating that preliminary reports indicate fatalities and injuries.
Authorities are urging drivers to prioritize safety, rest before long journeys, avoid driving while tired, and observe speed limits on the highway.
The accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of fatigue while driving, and authorities are emphasizing the importance of responsible driving practices to prevent such tragedies.
