Mt Zion Secondary School in Mubende has emerged as the top-performing school in the Wamala region in the 2025 A-level exams, a feat that has earned them regional bragging rights.
Located in the heart of Kalonga, the school has put Mubende on the map alongside other districts like Mityana, Kasanda, Kyankwanzi, and Kiboga.
The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) officially released the results of the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations, which showed overall improvement in candidate performance.
A whopping 98.9% of candidates qualified for the UACE certificate, with 68.6% meeting the minimum requirement of two Principal passes for university admission.
Mt Zion Secondary School excelled, with five students scoring a perfect 20 points in sciences, four getting 19 points, and five hitting 18 points.
Some of the top achievers include Twinamasiko Henry (BCM/ICT, 1AAA1, 20 points), Ssali Mike (BCM/ICT, 2AAA3, 20 points), and Kamuntu Saidi (BCM/ICT, 1AAA1, 20 points).
The school’s success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff alike.
Deputy Head Teacher Ssaalongo Ssaazi Edward praised the school’s achievement, saying, “This is a result of dedication, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. We’re proud of our students and staff for their outstanding performance.” The school is celebrating its top achievers with the theme “The Best Don’t Rest” and slogan #TheBestDontRest.
The Minister of Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni, released the results on March 13, 2026, highlighting the government’s commitment to quality education.
Mt Zion Secondary School is definitely one to watch, and its success is sure to inspire others in the region.
