Kampala police are investigating a fatal incident involving two land brokers that left one dead and the other in custody.
Geoffrey Kakembo, 31, was allegedly stabbed to death by his colleague, Mukisa Tonny, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Kibiri A, Masajja, along Busabala Road.
According to police reports, the altercation occurred while the two were driving together in Kakembo’s vehicle, registration number UBP 620S. Mukisa reportedly stabbed Kakembo in the neck with a knife, causing the vehicle to lose control.
A lorry driver passing by stopped to assist and found Mukisa attempting to support the bleeding Kakembo.
Police arrested Mukisa at the scene, recovering the suspected murder weapon from the driver’s seat. The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, SSP Patrick Onyango, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigations.
“We have arrested the suspect, recovered the knife, and recorded statements from eyewitnesses. The suspect is cooperating with police as investigations continue,” Onyango said.
The motive behind the fatal confrontation remains unclear, but police suspect it may have stemmed from a land-related dispute.
The case has been registered at Kibuye Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
