Mubende, Uganda – Territorial police in Mubende have launched an investigation into a gruesome murder by mob that occurred on March 17, 2025, in Nabiyungu village, Kasambya parish, Madudu sub-county.
According to police reports, the unidentified victim, suspected to be a boda-boda rider, was found dead in a swamp in Nabiyungu village, with ropes tied around his legs and hands. A motorcycle rubber was also found at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was suspected of theft, leading to the brutal mob justice.
The suspects allegedly set fire to the victim’s motorcycle, registration number UFS 407C, which was burned to ashes.
The police have condemned the act of mob justice and urged the public to cooperate with the investigation.
The body of the victim has been taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice.
The police spokesperson for the Wamala region, SP Kawala Rachael, has urged the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
