Kiboga, Uganda – A shocking murder case has rocked Kyanamuyonjo, Kyomya sub-county in Kiboga District, after the body of 3-year-old Nantumbwe Jauda was discovered in a coffee plantation dam on November 19, 2024.
According to police reports, Nantumbwe’s parents, Bule Fahim and his wife, had prepared their children for school at Madalasat Nursery & Primary School on November 18, 2024.
The parents then left for Mityana to visit another child, while Nantumbwe and her 7-year-old brother, Busulwa Bakari, proceeded to school alone.
When Busulwa returned home at 1:20 pm, he couldn’t find Nantumbwe.
A search party was formed, but she was nowhere to be found. The incident was reported to police at 11 pm, and a disappearance case was opened.
The following day, at 1 pm, Nantumbwe’s shoes were discovered abandoned in the coffee plantation.
Further search efforts led to the discovery of her lifeless body in the dam, with hands tied behind her back. Preliminary findings indicate she was strangled to death.
“We appeal to parents and guardians to be vigilant about their children’s safety and ensure they accompany them to and from school,” said SP Racheal Kawala, Police Spokesperson for Wamala Region.
The police, led by DPC Kiboga, have launched an investigation and are working to apprehend the suspects.
