Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Police Force has issued a statement dismissing viral social media reports of a gruesome assault in Nyamushekyera, Greater Bushenyi.

According to the false reports, a stepmother allegedly struck her stepson in the head with a nail. However, authorities have confirmed that no such incident occurred.

“The reports circulating on social media are entirely false,” said a police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma. “Our Nyamushekyera police station has not received or recorded any report of this nature.”

The police have urged the public to disregard the misinformation and warned against spreading unverified reports.

“We appeal to the public to verify information through official channels before sharing,” the spokesperson added.
