Kasanda, Uganda – A brutal panga attack in Nabutiti Village, Bukuya Constituency, Kassanda District, has left three people severely injured and the community gripped with fear.
The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Thursday 29-08-2024 when unidentified assailants stormed the home of Nanjovu, daughter of Mzee Kabibu, and later targeted another family in the area.
Lawrence Mbogga, LC I Chairman for Nabutiti, described the attack: “The assailants injured one person at Nanjovu’s home before fleeing when locals pursued them. They then attacked Kamya Ssebaddawo’s family, injuring him and his wife, Agnes Zawedde.”
Kamya sustained cuts to his head and hands, while Agnes suffered similar injuries.
The couple is currently receiving treatment at Hajji Kyambadde Medical Clinics in Bukuya.
Neighbors Florence Mukalazi and Naloongo Kalege witnessed the aftermath. “We found Kamya and his wife bleeding profusely and rushed them to the clinic,” Mukalazi said.
Kalege reported that the attackers also stole valuables and cash from Kamya’s house. “The house was in disarray, and it was clear they had taken belongings and money.”

The community is shaken, but Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
“Police investigations are ongoing, and we assure the public that a comprehensive report will be released soon,” said police in Kasanda.
