Kampala, Uganda – The National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General, Lewis Rubongoya, has welcomed aspiring Member of Parliament for Mubende Municipality, Ismael Ssegawa, also known as Sureman Ssegawa, to the party’s headquarters.
Ssegawa, a renowned journalist working with Radio Simba, expressed interest in contesting for the parliamentary seat on the NUP ticket.
His visit to the NUP headquarters marks a significant step in his journey to represent Mubende Municipality.
As a vocal youth leader, Ssegawa has been engaging with voters on the ground, seeking their support and endorsement ahead of the NUP vetting committee as wel to vote him as area MP when time comes.
His efforts have been well-received, with many expressing enthusiasm for his candidacy.
Ssegawa’s rise to prominence is a testament to his determination and resilience.
From humble beginnings as a hawker on the highway, he has worked his way up to become a respected journalist and community leader.

Through his community organization, Nva Mubende Family, Ssegawa has been involved in various charitable initiatives, including providing educational materials to students and supporting expectant mothers with essential supplies.
His recent introduction of the Nva Mubende Charity Run has also been well-received, with proceeds going towards supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Youths and elders in Mubende Municipality are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to vote for Ssegawa, who they see as a dynamic and dedicated leader.
