Deadan Mubangizi, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer for Buweekula South, has promised to conduct peaceful elections as campaigns kick off across Uganda tomorrow, October 10, 2025.

Speaking to this media, Mubangizi emphasized his commitment to peaceful elections, urging supporters and opponents alike to shun violence.
“I am a peaceful man, and my supporters are peaceful too. I encourage even those who want violent elections to copy us; after all, this is our own community,” he said.
Buweekula South, located in Mubende district, has experienced violent elections in the past, including this year’s NRM party primaries.
Mubangizi, who is contesting for the position of Member of Parliament for the first time, has been actively involved in community service, earning him recognition among locals.
His contributions to the community include donating an ambulance, organizing free medical camps that have benefited over 10,000 people, and raising over 100 million shillings to construct secondary school buildings.
The general elections are scheduled to take place on January 15, 2026, with three candidates vying for the position: Deadan Mubangizi (NRM), Ssempiira Edward (NUP), and Tumwesigye Free(Independent).
