Nakatude Yudaya Ssebayiga, has defected from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a movement led by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to join the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT).
ANT is a political party headed by Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Mugisha Muntu, a former and aspiring presidential candidate.
Ssebayiga, who initially ran as an independent candidate under the PLU’s umbrella, will now compete under the ANT banner in the upcoming general elections.
With campaigns set to kick off in October, Ssebayiga’s decision has generated significant interest in Mubende District’s political landscape.
However, Ssebayiga’s road to success won’t be easy, as she’ll be competing against strong opponents.
Key competitors include Hope Grania Nakazibwe, the incumbent Woman Member of Parliament who recently won the NRM primaries, and Hope Felister, running on the NUP ticket.
Additionally, independent candidates will also throw their hats into the ring, making the competition even fiercer.
