In a swift response to a gruesome crime, police in Mityana have arrested three suspects in connection with the theft and murder that occurred at Moonlight Fuel Station in Bamunanika Cell, Mityana Municipal, Mityana District.
The incident happened on Monday night, March 24, 2025, when assailants attacked the fuel station, killing the security guard and making off with cash.
The suspects, identified as Kitandwe Godfrey, Naluwemba Rose, and Nakanjako, all residents of Bamunanika, were apprehended with the help of a police dog.
According to Racheal Kawala, Police Spokesperson for the Wamala Region, investigations are ongoing.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the security guard reported for duty at around 5 pm on Monday and was attacked and killed during the night.
The pump attendant, who works alongside the security guard at night, was asleep at the time of the attack and was unaware of the incident.
The supervisor discovered the security guard’s body lying in a pool of blood at 5 am, along with a missing motorcycle, UBD 465P Bajaj Boxer.
The police arrived promptly and took the security guard’s body to Mityana Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
The arrest of the three suspects brings hope that justice will be served for the victim and his family.
The use of police dogs in this case demonstrates the value of modern policing techniques in apprehending suspects and bringing them to justice.
Here’s a well-phrased version:
For five years, the security guard had diligently protected Moonlight Fuel Station, armed with only a stick and a torch, a stark reminder of the vulnerability of his position.
