Police in Mbarara district have launched an investigation into a disturbing incident involving a 16-year-old girl from Ntungamo’s Kyishanyi sub-county, who was allegedly burned with hot water by her employer, Atwongire Doreen, a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University.
According to preliminary reports, the victim had secured a job as a domestic worker in Mbarara just two weeks prior to the incident.
Her employer allegedly poured hot water on the girl’s chest following accusations that she had failed to bathe her children on time.
The victim is currently receiving medical attention at a clinic in Ruti, thanks to the assistance of a good Samaritan.
