Tragedy struck in the capital city yesterday morning as the body of Agnes Nantongo, manager of Africa Oil petrol station in Kireka, was discovered lying on the Northern Bypass.
According to eyewitnesses, Nantongo’s lifeless body was found on Sunday morning, approximately 12 hours after she was last seen leaving work on Saturday evening around 8:00 pm.
Patrick Onyango, Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed the incident and announced the launch of a thorough investigation into Nantondo’s murder.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Agnes Nantongo and condemn this heinous act,” Onyango said. “Our team is working tirelessly to gather evidence and bring those responsible to justice.”
Onyango urged anyone with information regarding the murder to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.
Africa Oil petrol station staff and colleagues described Nantongo as a dedicated and respected manager, whose sudden passing has sent shockwaves throughout the community.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police have assured the public that they will do everything in their power to ensure justice is served.
