In a thrilling weekend of football matches, Kabula Saza Football Club became the first team to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, while Buwekula Saza Football Club maintained its unbeaten run this season.

Kabula’s Patrick Mutebi named Man of the Match on 25-08-2024

On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Buwekula Saza faced off against Kyaggwe Football Club at the Mubende NTC playgrounds, resulting in a goalless draw.

Despite the lack of goals, Buwekula Saza retained its second position in Group Muganzirwaza with 16 points.

Meanwhile, Kabula Saza Football Club clinched a crucial victory over Busiro Saza Football Club, scoring a single goal to secure a quarterfinals berth with 19 points.

In a dramatic turn of events, the match between Singo and Kooki at Singo Saza grounds in Mityana ended in controversy.

With the score tied at 0-0, the referee awarded Singo a penalty in the 75th minute.

However, Kooki players disputed the call, and along with their technical team, refused to continue playing but stayed standing in the play ground.

The standoff lasted until the 90-minute mark, at which point the referee declared the match finished, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

Other matches played over the weekend saw Butambala defeat Buluuli 2-1 on Saturday, August 24, while Sunday’s matches yielded the following results:

    • Bulemezi 0, Bugerere 0
    • Gomba 3, Mawogola 1
    • Kyadondo 2, Buddu 2
    • Mawokota 1, Buvuma 0
    • Busujju 1, Sese 0
