Gen Salim Saleh, also known as Caleb Akandwanaho, the National Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and brother of President Yoweri Museveni, is considering taking legal action against Kira MP Ssemujju Nganda for allegedly slandering him.

Nganda recently accused Saleh of misappropriating billions of shillings from the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS).

According to Nganda, Gen Saleh’s first action after taking over OWC leadership was to withdraw 97 billion shillings to purchase vehicles for coordinators.

Nganda questioned President Museveni’s argument that the Uganda Coffee Development Agency (UCDA) was a burden to taxpayers, contrasting its 45 billion shillings annual budget with the 150 billion shillings allocated to the president for donations.

Nganda made these statements during a televised interview while debating the recent controversial passing of the National Coffee Amendment Bill, which Parliament passed amid pressure from President Yoweri Museveni.

The outspoken opposition legislator claimed that when Museveni wanted his brother, Gen Caleb Akandwanaho (Salim Saleh), to access NAADS money, he launched incessant attacks on the agricultural agency, accusing it of inefficiency, the same way he has with UCDA.

Gen Saleh responded, denying the allegations and threatening to sue Nganda.

“Hon Ibrahim Nganda, If you want to know who ate NAADS money, please check the NAADS suppliers database at PPDA,” wrote the general. “Stop tarnishing my name, otherwise I will sue you.”

Hon Nganda was yet to respond to Gen Saleh’s ultimatum.

Nganda’s allegations are not isolated, as he has previously criticized Gen Saleh’s involvement in other government programs.
