SAD!!POLITICAL ANALYST JOSEPH TAMALE MIRUNDI PASSES AWAY AT 59

Kampala, Uganda – Joseph Tamale Mirundi, a renowned journalist, author, and political analyst, passed away on [date] at the age of 59.

Mirundi was a prominent figure in Ugandan media, known for his sharp analysis and fearless commentary on politics.

Born in 1964 in Rakai District, Uganda, Mirundi attended Rubaga Senior Secondary School and later graduated from Makerere University.

He began his career as a part-time writer for the newspaper Munno before becoming a professional journalist. Mirundi worked as a presidential press secretary and media advisor and was a member of the National Resistance Movement.

Mirundi was a familiar face on Ugandan television, appearing on various political shows, including “Sharp Talk” on STV Uganda, “One on One” on NBS Television, and “Embuga” on STV Uganda.

In 2022, he founded the online newspaper Kab News, where he published news and information.

Throughout his career, Mirundi was known for his controversial statements and fearless commentary.

He was suspended from the “One On One” show in 2017 for using abusive language and was taken to court by lawyer Mabirizi over defamation. In 2015, his first wife, Juliet Nassimbwa, sought to divorce him due to political differences.

Mirundi also alleged that he was poisoned in 2019.

Despite the challenges, Mirundi was recognized by President Yoweri Museveni for his media work, receiving a new car as a reward.

He was known for predicting the downfall of Eric Sakwa and believing that the People Power, Our Power party under Bobi Wine would gain more seats in the 2021 elections.

Mirundi is survived by his parents, Molly Namatovu and Yowana Mirundi.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

His passing has sent shockwaves through the Ugandan media and political circles, with many paying tribute to his contributions to journalism and political analysis.
