A tragic incident unfolded in Ntinda, a Kampala City suburb, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, claiming the life of a young businesswoman identified as Agie, owner of Agie Fashions Men’s Wear Boutique.
Agie was attacked by thieves on a bodaboda while returning home, near Romeo’s Restaurant, opposite Total Ntinda.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants attempted to snatch her handbag, which she tightly held onto, prompting them to pull her off the bodaboda. Agie fell and hit her head on the tarmac, sustaining severe injuries.
Despite efforts to save her, Agie succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead minutes later.
This tragic event adds to the growing list of victims of “kifeesi” gangs, motorcycle-riding thugs notorious for robbing pedestrians and motorists across Kampala.
The gangs have previously been linked to the murder of the late daughter of city tycoon Drake Lubega and several other Kampala residents.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and are urging residents to remain vigilant. Calls are mounting for tighter security and street surveillance in Ntinda and surrounding areas to combat the surge in bodaboda-related crimes.
Friends, clients, and fellow traders took to social media to express grief and call for justice, describing Agie as a “self-made woman with a golden heart”.
