A top ally of former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, Buyinza Adam Luzindana, has declared war on Captain Francis Babu, a prominent figure in the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Buyinza, a key figure in the Uganda Poor Youth Movement, made the declaration while addressing NRM grassroots structures in Hoima.
“We will not allow Hon Captain Francis Babu to antagonise Haji Moses Kigongo, Vice Chairman of NRM,” Buyinza stated. “Hon Babu Francis in 2015 abused Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi and he is a man known for cliquism and intrigue.”
Buyinza further asserted, “No one should be involved in personal battles of Babu against party leaders. HAJI Kigongo is a humble and dedicated Leader of NRM. We are ready to defend Haji Kigongo.”
Buyinza also stated that some arrogant NRM CEC Members are going to be kicked out by vibrant cadres.
He said that he has no problem at all whether NRM members loyal to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and PLU take over CEC Positions.
“All we need are good leaders at the Secretariat,” Buyinza stated. “He commended current NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong for being a peaceful and accessible leader despite many battles at the Secretariat.”
Buyinza called upon NRM mobilisers and grassroots leaders to come out and speak out against corruption, arrogance, impunity, injustices, pride, etc. in the party.
“You have for long supported NRM but you are still poor yet aging, yet NRM leaders continue to use and dump you, then after they expect you to blame President Museveni,” Buyinza said.
“President Museveni has done a lot, but his biggest problem is having thieves and arrogant people working as district leaders and some in Central Executive Committee. These people are the problem, not Museveni.”
Buyinza also stated, “We cannot afford to sit back while NRM bad people are tarnishing the name of President Museveni.
Most of these people in districts are corrupt and don’t engage NRM people in any programme. Should we blame this on Museveni?”
“Francis Babu is not clean and he is very arrogant. Let him retire and concentrate on his private business. Our poor youth brigades will defend Haji Moses Kigongo and good leaders at the NRM Secretariat. Francis Babu will never be a CEC Member.”
Buyinza also advised, “There are also bad ministers in cabinet, it’s high time NRM cadres identify them and inform the president. We must wipe them out. These people are the problem of president Museveni.”
Buyinza Adam Luzindana is known for having led the most notorious youth group as its supreme leader, known as UGANDA POOR YOUTH MOVEMENT, until when it was allegedly disbanded in 2022.
Buyinza Adam Luzindana has remained so close to former premier Amama Mbabazi while also maintaining close relationship with H.E Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
President Museveni has continued to grace all events and functions organised by Buyinza Adam and the president has always made good statements about Adam Buyinza and public Opinions.
President in some statements, he has always described poor youth leaders such as Adam Buyinza, Isa Kato, Walusimbi Shakur, Richard Kurekyankuba and others as great NRM cadres.
Adam who allegedly handles personal assignments for the president has always denied working for president Museveni and having any link to him.
It’s known that many of the top most leaders of the poor youth movement are so close to president Museveni doing highly classified work but at the same time they have remained close to former premier Amama Mbabazi who is also doing top classified work for president Museveni.
Buyinza Adam has kept a very low profile since 2022 and he has not appeared in public until yesterday in Hoima where he made very controversial statements now sending waves across the NRM political spectrum.
In 2024, Buyinza Adam and ONC Chief Namyalo Hadijah hosted president Museveni at Kololo Ceremonial Ground together with now the current Chairperson of the Africa Union Commission (AUC).
Buyinza Adam in 2021 recognised Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a UGANDA strategic management champion at a function well attended by top most officials from special forces command.
Buyinza Adam who rose to fame having led the Uganda Poor Youth Liberation Movement and having served as Regional Chairman of the youth league of the ruling National Resistance Movement has remained one of most influential former National Youth leaders and has maintained.
