Kampala, Uganda – In a move that has sparked widespread speculation, NBS TV presenter Zambali Blasio has hinted at his potential parliamentary ambitions after a meeting with National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine.
Blasio, a news anchor and panelist on NBS TV’s popular political show “Barometer,” had previously declared his support for Bobi Wine during his role as master of ceremonies (MC) at King Saha’s show, “Ebiseera Ebyo,” in 2024.
At the event, Blasio boldly stated that Bobi Wine was his president, despite the Electoral Commission’s declaration of Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the winner of the 2021 presidential election.
Blasio’s endorsement of Bobi Wine raised eyebrows, but he did not face any repercussions from his employers at NBS TV.
Fast-forward to the present, and it appears that Blasio’s next move may be to join politics.
In a Facebook post, Blasio revealed that he had a “productive and encouraging” meeting with Bobi Wine, sparking rumors that he may be considering a parliamentary run on the NUP ticket.
While the constituency he may represent is still unknown, Blasio’s post suggests that he is eager to take the next step in his political journey.
His statement, “I’m committed to continuing our shared vision for a better future, and I’m eager to take this next step with your support,” has been interpreted by many as a hint at his potential candidacy.
As Uganda gears up for general elections in early February 2026, Blasio’s potential entry into politics could be a significant development. Will he officially announce his candidacy, and if so, which constituency will he represent?
