Kabanda David, the Member of Parliament for Kasambya County in Mubende District and secretary general of the Patriotic League Of Uganda(P.L.U) , has donated 1 million shillings to support the Nva Mubende Charity Run.
The event, scheduled for January 18, 2025, aims to raise funds to purchase mother kits for pregnant women in Mubende District.
The charity run is part of the annual Nva Mubende Festival, which celebrates the people of Mubende and promotes community pride.
This year’s festival has added a charity component to support pregnant mothers in the district.
Participants can purchase a running kit for 20,000 Uganda shillings, and the proceeds will go towards buying mother kits for distribution in local hospitals.
According to the organizers, the running kit also grants access to the Nva Mubende Festival in the evening of the same day, without any additional payment.
The festival is a celebration of Mubende’s culture and identity, and the charity run is a way to give back to the community.
Kabanda David has urged the Mubende community to support the charity run and festival, emphasizing the importance of lifting the Mubende banner to the world.
He praised the vision bearer, Sureman Seggawa, for initiating the event. Renowned Ugandan celebrity, Moses Golola, a self-made entrepreneur, kickboxer, actor, philanthropist, and businessman, will be the chief runner at the event.
