The Electoral Commission of Uganda has taken a significant step towards registering the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) as a political party.
Today, the commission received the promoters of the PFF, led by Hon. Wafula Ogutu, who submitted the supporting members’ details for verification.
In accordance with Article 61 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda 1995, the Electoral Commission will verify the submitted members against the National Voters Register in their respective districts of registration.
This process is crucial in ensuring that the PFF meets the requirements for registration as a political party.
Upon successful verification, the Electoral Commission will issue a certificate of registration to the PFF.
This milestone will mark a significant achievement for the party, which was formed by a breakaway faction from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
The PFF has been working tirelessly to meet the registration requirements, including submitting its party name and symbols to the Electoral Commission on August 27, 2024.
The party has also commenced its membership registration process in various parts of the country, including Northern Uganda.
The registration of the PFF as a political party is expected to have significant implications for Uganda’s political landscape.
