Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) has reclaimed its top spot in the Uganda Premier League after a dominating 5-0 win over Maroons FC at the MTN-Omondi Stadium.
The Kasasiro Boys were relentless from the start, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.
Ashiraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume opened the scoring in the third minute, capitalizing on a loose ball from Bright Anukani’s corner kick.
KCCA FC doubled their lead in the 43rd minute through Abu Mayanja’s clinical finish, culminating from a well-orchestrated team move.
Saidi Mayanja further extended the advantage on the stroke of halftime, exploiting a poor clearance by Maroons FC goalkeeper Simon Tamale.
Despite Maroons FC coach Muhammad Senfuma’s halftime adjustments, KCCA FC’s dominance persisted.
Shafik Nana Kwikiriza scored in the 66th minute, benefiting from the visitors’ defensive lapses. Substitute Sadat Anaku sealed the victory with a close-range finish, assisted by Usama Arafat in his return from injury.
This triumph propels KCCA FC to 17 points, surpassing Vipers SC by a single point. Maroons FC remains 13th with 6 points. KCCA FC’s unbeaten run continues, setting the stage for their highly anticipated clash against Vipers SC on November 9.
KCCA FC’s next challenge will test their resolve against formidable opponents Vipers SC, while Maroons FC seeks redemption in their upcoming fixtures.
