FATAL ACCIDENT IN MYANZI: LINK BUS KNOCKS BODA BODA RIDER DEAD

Myanzi, Kasanda District, Uganda –

A tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening in Myanzi Trading Center along the Kampala-Mubende highway, resulting in the death of a boda boda rider.

At approximately 7:00 pm, a Link bus with registration number UAX 307A, driven by 50-year-old Baluku Sulait , collided with a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle bearing registration number UFX 183B.

The motorcycle’s rider, Ssekitoleko Moses who had just dropped his son to school in Mityana , died instantly.

According to SP Racheal Kawala, Police Spokesperson for Wamala Region, preliminary investigations indicate that reckless driving by the boda boda rider caused the accident.

“The boda boda rider allegedly entered the road without ensuring it was safe, resulting in the collision,” Kawala said.

All passengers on board the Link bus, which was traveling from Kampala to Mubende, escaped unharmed.

The Link bus and motorcycle were impounded at Kasanda District Police Station, while Ssekitoleko’s body was taken to Kasanda Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
