Mubende, Uganda – 102.3 Heart FM is gearing up for another electrifying episode of its parliamentary debate series, this time in Buweekula South, as part of its relentless pursuit to empower voters and foster democratic engagement in the district.

In a bid to provide a level playing field for all aspirants, Heart FM has been hosting debates across Mubende district, giving contestants a platform to showcase their leadership skills, policy positions, and vision for the community.

Last year, the radio station kicked off the series in Mubende municipality, where incumbent Hon Lubega Bashir (Independent) and Sumayah Nabawanuka (NUP) locked horns in a lively debate.

The station also hosted an all-lady panel of aspirants vying for the Mubende district woman representative seat, featuring Tindimweba Teopista (Independent), Nanyanzi Teopista (NUP), and Nakatude Yudaya (ANT).

The debate series then moved to Buweekula County, where Kulabirawo Edward (Independent) and Judith Mujawimaana (Independent) faced off.

Now, the battle of ideas is heating up in Buweekula South, with Dedan Mubangizi (NRM), Fred Tumwesigye (Independent), and Ssempiira Edward (NUP) set to square off this Sunday, April 4th.

“We’re not charging anyone for this debate, and we’ve officially written to all aspirants,” said Heart FM’s PD Lule Maurice. “It’s only the brave ones who show up, and we’re excited to see who’ll turn up to make their case to the voters.”

The debate will be broadcast live on 102.3 Heart FM from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, with all aspirants expected to be in studio.

According to Heart FM, the aim of the debate is to give voters a chance to listen to how these individuals can articulate ideas and choose the bravest one to represent them in parliament.

After Buweekula South, Heart FM will head to Kasambya county, continuing it’s mission to promote informed decision-making and democratic engagement in Mubende district.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from the candidates and make your voice heard!
