The driver of a YY Coaches bus, Wadulo Musa, has been remanded to Buikwe Prisons after being produced before the Buikwe Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Musa is facing 16 counts related to a tragic accident that occurred on May 5, 2025, in Makindu Village, along the Kisoga-Nyenga Road in Buikwe District, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, Musa had been evading arrest until his recent capture.
The charges against him include three counts of causing death through reckless driving, contrary to Section 100(1) of the Traffic and Road Safety Act, Cap. 347, as well as 12 counts of causing bodily injuries and one count of causing an accident through reckless driving.
The accident occurred when Musa’s bus, registration number UAV 701C, overturned and caught fire, claiming several lives and leaving many others injured.
The police investigation into the incident revealed that Musa’s reckless driving was the primary cause of the accident.
