The Uganda Police Force has released a statement on the fatal accident that occurred on February 15, 2025, along the Mubende-Mityana road in Kisekende, Mubende District.
According to the police statement, the accident involved a Toyota Premio with registration number UBK 491A and a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number UGD 627U.The statement confirmed that two people died on the spot, while one person was injured.
The deceased were identified as Nabisubi Ruth, a 46-year-old female, and Mukisa Herbert, a 13-year-old male, both residents of Kangulumira, Mubende Municipal, Mubende District.
The police attributed the cause of the accident to careless driving by the driver of the Toyota Premio. Efforts are underway to identify, arrest, and bring the driver to justice.
The police spokesperson, SP Kawala Racheal, urged the public to exercise caution on the roads and to report any reckless driving to the authorities.
The police statement read in part:
“The territorial police in Mubende have registered a fatal accident that occurred on 15/02/25 at about 0730hrs at Kisekende along Mubende-Mityana road… The cause of the accident is careless driving by the driver of motor vehicle UBK 491A Toyota Premio… Efforts are on to have the driver identified, arrested, and brought to book.”
The police have appealed to anyone with information about the accident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
