For long, the National Resistance Movement leadership of Wakiso District has exhibited a high level of incompetence and failure, characterized by pouring excuse after excuse and peddling lies.
With less than two years left to the 2026 General Elections, the NRM leadership in Wakiso under Hajji Abdul Kiyimba is yet to mobilise for new members and drive collective participation in political processes.
For a long time, there has not been a single consultation meeting and nothing has been done to engage the public to expound the NRM and its chairperson, President Yoweri Museveni’s agenda.
Since assuming office, no single strategy has been laid for cadre mobilisation in Wakiso, but Hajji Kiyimba is often heard blaming the top leadership of the party, including President Museveni, Hon. Rosemary Seninde and Hon. Dennis Galabuzi among others for the party woes and failure to meet the district party leaders.
The party chairman has repeatedly rallied Ugandans to do all that it takes to participate in development programmes, but Kiyimba and his team have never been seen mobilizing Ugandans accordingly.
No doubt, Kiyimba and his committee have failed and should therefore declare themselves as failures or hand over the district structures back to Kyadondo.
They prioritize their desires against the party and the country, with almost nothing done for the progress of our party. The ground in Wakiso is fertile, but the NRM leadership has not sowed any seeds that can germinate to push the party agenda forward. Several times, Kiyimba has paid ho a deaf ear to NRM cadres’ lamentations.
With the current leadership of NRM in Wakiso, it will be hard to secure victory for President Museveni and NRM party candidates (at all structures) in the forthcoming 2026 General elections.
More so, our political participation could be limited and again fail to neutralise the dominant Opposition (NUP in particular) in our district.
Our district leaders should wake up from their deep sleep!
