The National Unity Platform (NUP) has released its final list of party flag bearers, and Ssazi Godfrey has been confirmed as the candidate for Gomba East constituency.
This decision comes after speculation and controversy surrounding Flavia Namulindwa, who had been congratulated on social media for allegedly being awarded the NUP card for the same constituency.
The party’s Electoral Management Committee (EMC) appears to have disregarded concerns about Ssazi’s eligibility, despite allegations and photos circulating on social media showing him with individuals labeled as “mafias.”
These allegations seemingly had no bearing on the party’s decision, as Ssazi retains his position as the NUP flag bearer for Gomba East.
The confirmation of Ssazi’s candidacy has sparked reactions, with some questioning the legitimacy of the allegations against him and others expressing support for the party’s decision.
