Mubende, Uganda – Ismael Ssegawa, popularly known as Sureman Ssegawa, has left incumbent MP Lubega Bashir Ssempa exposed, revealing the “naked truth” about his weak service delivery to the people of Mubende Municipality.
Ssegawa, a renowned football commentator with Radio Simba, and a former fried meat hawker on the Mubende highway, has expressed interest in running for the Mubenga Municipality MP seat on the National Unity Platform ticket.
During a heated debate on Point FM 105.1’s Cross Fire program, Ssegawa confronted Bashir, stating that he had not worked enough for the people of Mubende and should relinquish the position.
Ssegawa criticized Bashir for operating a school in Kasanda District, while representing Mubende Municipality, which also needs better education facilities.
Ssegawa has promised to deliver better education, healthcare, and infrastructure development to the people of Mubende Municipality.
He also vowed to ensure that each division in the municipality gets a health center and that electricity and water are no longer a problem.
Ssegawa’s entry into the race has sparked excitement among Mubende residents, who are eager for a change in leadership.
Bashir, who has been in Parliament since 2021, faces stiff competition from Ssegawa and other challengers.
