The community in Mukono is still reeling after the brutal murder of Melissa Aneza, a 15-year-old student who was found dead in Kyampisi, Mukono district, on November 10th, 2025.

The details of the crime are horrifying and have left many in shock. According to reports, Melissa went missing on November 4th, 2025, while returning to school.
Despite desperate search efforts, her lifeless body was discovered six days later with severe signs of torture, including a dismantled face, broken arms, and plucked-out eyes.
Her body also showed extensive bruising, and she had been strangled with her own sock.
The family is offering a 10 million Ugandan shillings reward for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator(s).

“We cannot fathom the mission of these killer(s), but we know they are still walking free,” said Kamuganga Sarah, Melissa’s mother. “We demand justice for our innocent child. This cruelty cannot continue—today it is Melissa, tomorrow it could be anyone else.”
