Kyeyune Pafuladiito Bazirondere, the chairperson of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Mubende district, has officially submitted his expression of interest forms to contest for the Mubende district chairperson position. As of now, he is unopposed within his party.
Pafuladiito, a strong advocate for change in Mubende district, has been actively preaching his message across the region.
His determination and grassroots support have positioned him as a formidable candidate. In the 2021 elections, Pafuladiito made a notable impression when he entered the race late, despite campaigns being almost concluded, and remarkably secured the second spot behind Michael Muhereza Ntambi of the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Ntambi won the election with 39,275 votes, while Pafuladiito garnered 26,364 votes, a testament to his strong appeal to the electorate despite the late start.
Building on that momentum, Pafuladiito’s tireless efforts and growing popularity suggest he may have a strong chance of winning the position this time around.
Historically, the NRM has dominated Mubende district politics, but with Pafuladiito’s campaign gaining momentum, the upcoming elections could mark a significant shift in the district’s political landscape.
After submitting his forms, Pafuladiito expressed his vision for Mubende district, saying, “Now am looking forward to bringing back the glory of Mubende district.”
He added that he is confident his party will sweep all positions in the district, starting with the presidency, led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
Pafuladiito’s campaign promises to build on his party’s message of change, which has resonated well with the community.
With his sights set on the district chairperson seat, Pafuladiito is poised to challenge the status quo and potentially bring a new era of leadership to Mubende district.
