Hon. Ismael Segawa, also known as Sureman, has secured 50 full university bursaries for students from Mubende Municipality.
The bursaries are tenable at St. Lawrence University (SLAU) and Metropolitan University in Kampala, with each institution catering to 20 students.
The bursaries are available to S6 and S4 leavers from Mubende Municipality who wish to pursue higher education.
Students interested in arts programs will receive full bursaries, while those pursuing science courses will receive half bursaries.
“I am thrilled to announce that we have secured these bursaries to support our bright students in Mubende Municipality,” said Hon. Segawa.
“This is a significant step towards promoting education and empowering our youth to achieve their academic goals. We believe that every student deserves access to quality education, and we are committed to making that a reality.”
These bursaries were made possible through the office of Hon. Kabuye Frank, the Member of Parliament for Kasanda South, who is also a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), the same party that Hon. Segawa subscribes to.

Students joining Metropolitan University will be awarded full scholarships, requiring them to only cover scholastic materials and accommodation expenses.
Some of the arts fields covered include Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Education in Primary and Secondary Education.
“We are excited to partner with these reputable universities to provide our students with the best possible opportunities,” Hon. Segawa added.
“We believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our community, and by providing these bursaries, we hope to inspire and motivate our students to excel academically and make a positive impact in their communities.”
Hon. Segawa expressed his gratitude to the universities and Hon. Kabuye Frank’s office for their support and collaboration.
“We are grateful for the partnership and commitment to supporting our students,” he said. “Their efforts are a testament to the power of collaboration and our shared vision for a brighter future for our community.”
This initiative aims to support students in Mubende Municipality and provide them with opportunities for academic advancement.
