Ismael Ssegawa, also known as Sureman Ssegawa, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Mubende municipality, has called upon his fellow Muslims to surprise non-Muslims by maintaining their discipline beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
Ssegawa made the remarks at the main mosque in Mubende municipality, where thousands of Muslims gathered for prayers to mark the end of the fasting mmonth
He thanked the Muslim community for their dedication to Allah and expressed his hope that Allah would answer their prayers.
The aspiring MP, who is a member of the National Unity Platform, urged Muslims to double their discipline and prove wrong those who claim that Muslims are only disciplined during Ramadan.
Ssegawa is optimistic that his party will entrust him with the party card to contest for the Mubende municipality parliamentary seat.
He believes that his grassroots engagement with voters has yielded positive results, and is confident that he can make history by becoming the first opposition MP to represent the area since the creation of Mubende district, which has been dominated by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party for 39 years.
Ssegawa’s confidence stems from the positive feedback he has received from voters across Mubende municipality.
He is determined to bring about change and improve the lives of his constituents if elected to office.
