Police in Kyankwanzi are searching for Maganda Isaac, a resident of Lubiri Kyankwanzi subcounty, Kyankwanzi district, after he allegedly attacked and robbed a charcoal dealer of an unspecified sum of money.
The incident occurred on March 14, 2023, at around midnight, when the victim, a businesswoman, went to pay her workers in ranch number 5, Kyankwanzi subcounty, where Maganda Isaac had brokered forest trees for charcoal burning.
Maganda Isaac, who had previously been involved in a goat theft case and is currently on bail, pretended to escort the victim in the forest but turned against her, cutting her severely and robbing her of the money.
The victim was rescued by a Good Samaritan and rushed to Hoima hospital for treatment.
A report was made at Bukwiri Police station, and authorities are appealing to the public for information on Maganda Isaac’s whereabouts.
SSP Lameck Kigozi, Police spokesperson for Wamala Region, confirmed the incident and described Maganda Isaac as having a known criminal record. Anyone with information on hand to contact the police immediately.
The public is urged to report any sightings of Maganda Isaac to the nearest police station.
