A tragic incident has unfolded in Sheema District, Greater Bushenyi region, where a three-month-old baby was found dead following a domestic dispute. Police have arrested two individuals, Ahimbisibwe Naboth, 51, and Ntoreine Reagan, 19, both residents of Kamurinda Cell, Runyinya Parish, Kigarama Subcounty.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on the night of January 31, 2025, around 9:00 PM, when Ntoreine Reagan engaged in a heated quarrel with his wife, Namaganda Mariam.
The altercation escalated into physical violence, prompting Mariam to flee to a neighbor’s house, leaving their infant child behind.
Tragically, when Mariam returned the following morning, she discovered that the baby had died. The body has been transported to Kabwohe Health Centre IV Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police have condemned the actions that led to the infant’s death, emphasizing the need to protect vulnerable members of society.
The arrests of Ahimbisibwe Naboth and Ntoreine Reagan mark the beginning of a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
