    A Masaza tournament match between Mawogola Saza and Buwekula Saza was abandoned on Sunday, August 18, 2024, after a fight broke out on the pitch with only 15 minutes left to play.

    The match, which was being held in Mawogola, was interrupted when Mawogola fans entered the field, sparking a brawl between players and fans from both teams.

    The violence escalated, with Buwekula coach Felix Sekabuuza being kicked, and police were forced to intervene to restore order.

    Tear gas was used to disperse the crowd, and the match was subsequently abandoned.

    At the time of the interruption, Buwekula was leading 1-0, thanks to a goal from Kalema Jimmy in the first half.

    The result of the match is now uncertain, with the Masaza tournament management yet to announce what will happen next.

    It’s worth noting that the previous match between the two teams, which was held in Buwekula, ended peacefully with Buwekula winning 3-0.

    Other matches played over the weekend saw Ssese beat Mawokota 1-0, Buluuli draw 2-2 with Bulemeezi, Buddu beat Butambala 1-0, Bugerere draw 1-1 with Kyadondo, Kabula beat Buvuma 2-0, Kyaggwe lose 0-1 to Ssingo, Kooki lose 0-1 to Gomba, and Busujju draw 1-1 with Busiro.
