Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Cranes took a significant step towards leading Group K in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers after defeating Congo Brazzaville 2-0 at Mandela National Stadium on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Aziz Kayondo opened the scoring for Uganda in the 21st minute, and Jude Ssemugabi sealed the victory with a second goal in the 86th minute.
The win propels Uganda to the top of Group K with 4 points, boosting their chances of advancing to the next round.
Uganda’s dominant performance was rewarded with three crucial points, leaving Congo Brazzaville struggling to keep pace.
