A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of today, October 27, 2025, in Kasenge, Wakiso District, leaving one police officer dead and another in custody.
According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, D/Sgt Mulika Sulaiman, a 41-year-old officer attached to Katwe Police Division, was fatally shot during an operation against suspected criminals.
The operation began when officers were dispatched to investigate a case of alleged malicious damage in Kasenge.
Upon arrival, they intercepted a canter truck carrying axes, pangas, and hoes, and arrested two suspects.
However, the situation took a deadly turn when additional police personnel arrived on the scene, and AIP Musisi Eriya, a 58-year-old police officer from Kikajjo Police Post, opened fire, striking D/Sgt Sulaiman.
D/Sgt Sulaiman was rushed to Mulago Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. AIP Musisi Eriya is currently in custody, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
